Wildflour was born from an idea started when two little preschool boys introduced their moms for a playdate. These moms are Alex and Kate, who were kindred spirits and became fast friends. They quickly learned they had so much in common; they both have wild kids, love dogs, camping, and a good laugh, and most importantly, share a love of baking.
Alexandra Fabre is the executive pastry chef and co-owner at Wildflour. She is a Colombian-born woman working and living in southeast Michigan. She began her baking and pastry career working in hotels and restaurants in south Florida, where she lived most of her life. Her inspiration in baking always came from baking with her mother at home and it grew into a passion that became a career. Now a wife and mother of 2 boys and a dog, who enjoys practicing watercoloring on her spare time, Alex hopes to add some latin flavors to her baked goods and create some dishes that make you want to come back every day looking for more.
Kate Gorman, co-owner, has dreamed of opening a bakery since she was 15 year old when she got a stand up mixer as a gift from her parents. Kate, a true Michigander, has a strong sense of community and an entrepreneurial spirit. She is a wife and mother of 4, who enjoys hosting a good dinner party, loves interior design and true crime. Kate hopes to create the perfect atmosphere at Wildflour and build a sense of community where everyone feels welcomed.
